More buildable figure sets are being added to LEGO Star Wars line according to a recent announcement. LEGO’s latest addition to the ever popular Star Wars theme will provide some of the Sci-Fi franchises most iconic vehicles in a small buildable format. Called Microfighters, each set is packaged together with a minifigure of a equally well known character and will be priced at $9.99. Sets in the line are slated to include:
Millennium Falcon (75030) with Han Solo Minifigure
A set of 12 exclusive Angry Birds Star Wars figure will be offered for sale at this years San Diego Comic Con. Figures of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Chewbacca, R2-D2, C-3PO, Darth Vader, Stormtrooper, Sand People, Imperial Navy Commander and a Jawa will all be included in the set, with each Star War’s character taking the form of either a pig (the villians) or a bird (the heroes). Featuring the iconic Kenner blister card packaging, the set will be available from July 18th to the 21st at the 44th San Diego Comic Con in San Diego, California, for $24.99.
A picture of the upcoming LEGO Star Wars set, the 75024 HH-87 Starhopper, has appeared online. Featuring three minifigures; Obi-Wan Kenobi, Cad Bane and a Nikto Guard, the HH-87 Starhopper is startfighter used by the criminal underworld in the Star Wars universe. The Starhopper’s known operators are the Hutt crime family as well as the Zygerrians. Slated for release in August, the set will be priced at €39.99.
Unveiled at LEGOWorld Copenhagen, The Red Five X-wing Starfighter will be the latest set to join the Ultimate Collector Series Star Wars line when it comes out later this year in May. The set consists of 1,558 pieces and is more than 10 inches high, 20 inches long and 18 inches wide. In addition, the set also comes with a figure of R2-D2 and features an opening cockpit and wings. Priced at $199.99, the set is a very similar to the UCS X-wing fighter released back in 2000.
The New York Toy Fair 2013 is now underway and those in attendance may have the good fortune to get their hands on a limited edition (of 150) LEGO set available only at the show. Featuring a Star Wars theme, the set includes a Yoda minifigure in a New York, I Love shirt, version of the tourism motto used by New York State switched around to match Yoda’s distinctive speaking style. The set appears to promote the new web series; LEGO Star Wars The Yoda Chronicles and also includes a mail box that sports “Sith Life!” graffiti. The 110th New York Toy Fair began on February 10th and is slated to run until February 13th in New York City at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
New pictures of the yet to be released LEGO Star Wars sets; the 75019 LEGO Star Wars AT-TE (pictured below) and the 75018 LEGO Star Wars Jek-14’s Stealth Starfighter (pictured above) have now appeared thanks to flickr member motayan.
The Stealth Starfighter includes figures of JEK-14, a Separatist Bounty Hunter, a Special Forces Clone trooper, and RG-G0. The AT-TE set includes figures of Mace Windu, Coleman Trebor, a Clone Trooper Commander, a Battle Droid and a Battle Droid Commander. This will be the third version of AT-TE produced for the LEGO Star Wars theme, with the first one being the Episode II Version, released in 2003, and the second one being The Clone Wars version which was released back in 2008.
