The scale LEGO Model of the Berlin Brandenburg Airport has seen its first airplane arrival before the actual airport has. The LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Berlin unveiled its 1:65 scale model of Berlin Brandenburg Airport while the real airport continued dealing with problems ranging from fire safety concerns to the inability to turn off the lights at a newly built terminal.
The LEGO model of the Berlin Brandenburg Airport took six months to complete and features more than 100,000 bricks. Meanwhile the actual Berlin Brandenburg Airport (pictured below) sits empty and continues its wait for the first airline passengers to arrive.
The airport is expected to open at the earliest in 2014. Slated to replace the two airports currently open in Berlin, the airport has seen a string of delays and cost overruns.
