Just ahead of the start of the 2013 Formula One racing season, driver’s Felipa Massa and Fernando Alonso unveiled a life-sized model of a Scuderia Ferrari F1 car. The unveiling took place at a promotional event in Melbourne, Australia, where the first race of the 2013 Formula One racing season will take place on March 17th. The event was put on by Shell, with participation by Ferrari and LEGO, to promote a series of Ferrari LEGO sets that will be available at the companies service stations throughout Australia.
The life-sized model is of the Ferrari 150 ° Italia car, which raced during the 2011 Formula One racing season. It took several months to construct and features real Pirelli race tires as well as a seat that is big enough to sit in. In addition, designers of the model even took the pains to replicate the steering wheel used in the actual car.
