Most large scale LEGO layouts try to model what happens on land, whether that be urban dioramas, or large scale medieval era battles, but LEGO enthusiasts in Taiwan have looked to the sea, or rather what is beneath the surface, to serve as their source of building inspiration. Featuring more than 30 different types of fish, a new brick built display highlights the diversity of underwater life. The aquatic scene is composed of more than 200 fish and is set to be on display in Taiwan’s capital city, Taipei.

Taking the form of a memory game, The Hobbit LEGO board game is designed to be played by two to four players and features 364 pieces that come together to form setting fit for the world of The Hobbit. The board game is due out in September, months before the release of The Hobbit LEGO theme in December.

What do a Thespian, a Bavarian and a Conquistador have in common? They will be joining the LEGO Collectable Minifigures lineup with the release of series 8. Along with the introduction of the new figures, a few old favorites, such as the Cheerleader and Robot will be making a reappearance as well. Expect to see the assorted cast of Series 8 characters starting in September, 2012.
Luke Skywalker’s battle with the Rancor carried out for Jabba The Hutt’s viewing pleasure came to be known as one of the most iconic scenes from the Star Wars movie franchise. Now, the scene, will soon be transformed into a LEGO set featuring a rather gargantuan figure of the Rancor himself. In addition,the new Jabba’s Palace set can sit atop the Rancor Pit to really bring the scene together. Priced at $59.99, the set will be available in January, 2013.
The upcoming The Hobbit LEGO theme just got more exciting with the debut of the Bag End set at the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con.
