New LEGO Sopwith Camel Announced

A new version of the LEGO Sopwith Camel is set to be released in June, according to an announcement by LEGO at AFOLcon in Manchester, The United Kingdom. The set appears to be a complete overhaul of the previous iteration of the model, the 3451 Sopwith Camel and not only features a updated color scheme, but a few hundred more pieces as well.

LEGO will also releasing a mini version of the Sopwith Camel. Coming in at Just 65 pieces, the set is free with a $75 purchase at LEGO Shop at Home and LEGO brand retail stores.

The British made Sopwith Camel biplane was first sent into battle in 1917 on the Western Front during World War I and became infamous after being credited with shooting down 1,294 enemy aircraft.
